A 1:1 session is where a spiritual director works with a single directee. This can be in-person or online, though the majority of my sessions will be through Zoom.

Generally we will open with a couple moments to focus and settle into our session.

Next, I’ll probably ask how you are coming into that session.

From there, I will prayerfully listen, ask questions, and help you notice the activity of God.

At the close, I will wrap up with an encouraging writing, a psalm, a prayer, or another activity to close our time together.

Since I am currently enrolled as a student in a certification program, all sessions are provided at no charge.

However, instead of a fee, I may ask to record the session so I may review it at later times. I may take notes to assist with debriefing and discussion with my supervisor or other students. No personal information will be shared, and I will treat all information as confidential. You may view my privacy policy here.

There is no “right” way of preparing for a session. Here are a few suggestions, or you can find something else that works for you:

– notice your spiritual life and how connected you feel with God

– reflect on your recent prayer experiences

– what has seemed heavy or difficult lately?

– where have you recently felt joy?

– consider any recent life events and any questions, feelings, or emotions that brings up
